(AGI) Vatican City, Sept 9 - Pope Francis is profoundlysaddened by the tragic death of the second U.S. reporterbeheaded by Islamic State Sunni jihadists in Iraq. "PopeFrancis asked me to communicate his condolences and prayers forthe tragic death of your son and brother Steven Joel", theVatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, wrote in amessage to the Joel family. "The Pope calls on everybody toreject violence, aggression and lack of compassion, askingeveryone to pray and work in favour of forgiveness, healing andpeace", the note said. (AGI) . .
