Nobel Peace Prize summit to be held in Rome

(AGI) Rome, Nov 16 - The yearly Nobel Peace Prize summit,originally planned for Cape Town to commemorate Nelson Mandela,will be held in Rome from Dec. 12 to 14. South AfricanPresident Jacob Zuma submitted to pressure from China andrefused the Dalai Lama a visa for the event, prompting otherNobel laureates to boycott its celebration in the South Africancapital. As well as the Dalai Lama, 22 other Nobel laureateswill be in Rome for the summit, including Desmond Tutu, ShirinEbadi, Leymah Gbowee, Tawakkul Karman, Mairead Maguire, JoseRamos-Horta, David Trimble, Lech Walesa and Betty Williams.
