(AGI) London, Feb 28 - Glasgow's Science Centre hosted anentire day of events dedicated to Milan's Expo 2015 onSaturday, in the presence of Scotland's first minister, NicolaSturgeon, and Italy's ambassador to the UK, PasqualeTerracciano. Some 500 participants attended the event, withrepresentatives from governmental institutions and the food,fair trade, culture, hospitality, and volunteering industries.Two of the Scottish government's undersecretaries, Humza Yousaffor International Cooperation and Maureen Watt for PublicHealth, were also present. Sturgeon and Terracciano expressedtheir hopes for "strong participation by the British public andScottish public in particular" at the Expo 2015, on which ateam from Milan also offered a "thorough presentation", theItalian embassy in London said. Sturgeon emphasised Scotland's"particular interest in the Expo due to its historiccollaboration with Italy and Scotland's role in central themesof the universal exhibition, such as nutrition education,sustainability, and fair trade", the embassy added. Scotlandalso celebrated its second anniversary as a 'Fair TradeNation', one of the few in the world, during Saturday's event.. .
