(AGI) Kabul, Nov 27 - An explosion followed by heavy gunfireshook the diplomatic quarter of Kabul on Thursday evening. Theblast followed an attack earlier in the day on a Britishembassy vehicle that killed six people, including one Britishcitizen. A military commander said the explosion was caused bya car bomb that targeted a foreign guesthouse in the WazirAkbar Khan area, where many embassies and internationalorganisations are located. "Two or three insurgents haveentered the compound. Our forces are there and the fight isongoing," said Commander Qadam Shah Shaheem. The Talibanimmediately claimed responsibility for the attack, saying theirfighters had targeted an "important centre of the enemy".
