(AGI) Rome, May 31 - British Prime Minister David Cameron hasmade a phone call to Sudan's government to urge Sudan to liftthe "barbaric" death sentence passed on a Christian womanaccused of abandoning Islam. A Sudanese judge ruled earlierthis month that Meriam Ibrahim should be regarded as Muslimbecause it had been her father's faith. She has refused torenounce her Christianity and was sentenced to death by a courtin Khartoum. The court said she would be allowed to nurse herbaby for two years before the sentence is carried out.
