Three entrants win Italian literary award

(AGI) Pescara, Dec 3 - Three entrants are to be awarded prizesin this year's Premio Internazionale Flaiano di Italianistica.They are: Geo Vasile from Romania, Sania Roic from Croatia andBarbara Kornacka from Poland. The students will receive theirprizes at "L'Europa sulla scena" at the Mediamuseum in Pescarain a ceremony organised by Teatro, Italianistica e Culturadell'alimentazione'. The three works, in the scholars' ownnative language and published last year, were selected by theItalian Cultural Institutes in the EU. The jury was chaired byDacia Maraini, and included Edoardo Tiboni, Giuseppe Conte,Antonio Gnoli, Dante Marianacci, Renato Minore, Walter Pedullaand Giuseppe Rosato. Geo Vasile, a well-known translator ofItalian to Romanian and essayist, was selected for hisanthology of 37 Italian poets who have made the history ofpoetry in the past 150 years. His book, "Delirai, imperfetta,su scale, da Arturo Onofri a Donatella Bisutti", was chosen bythe Italian Cultural Institute of Bucharest, under thedirection of Ezio Peraro. Barbara Kornacka, a Polish scholar,published her research on young Italian writers in the 1980sand 1990s called "Orecchio, occhio, corpo. Sulla narrativa digiovani scrittori degli anni '80 e '90 in Italia", and this waschosen by the Warsaw Italian Cultural Institute, run by PaolaCicolella. Sanja Roic, a well-known Croat scholar of Italianliterature published "All'Est e all'Ovest da Trieste. Dialoghiinterculturali", and this was chosen by the Italian CulturalInstitute i Zagreb, directed by Maria Sica. Ms Cicolellaredesigned the historic, philosophical, cultural and literaryprofile of the city of Trieste, as a crossroads of the Romance,Germanic and Slav worlds, from East to West, which has beenenriched by the cultures of travellers and migrants. Theceremony, which takes place place on Wednesday, Dec. 4, wasorganised by the Fondazione Edoardo Tiboni per la cultura edall'Accademia di Belle Arti, based in Rome, with thesponsorship of Milan Expo2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,Abbruzzi regional administration, the provincial and municipaladministrations of Pescara and Bioalimenta.
