On Sunday, June 14, Expo Milano 2015 is hosting the National Day of the Republic of San Marino. The country that has always been a good neighbor of Italy, will be presenting the gastronomic specialties of the land in its exhibition space located in the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster.

Flag-wavers enliven the parade to the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster

The day will start at 10:30 at the Expo Center with the flag-raising ceremony and the national anthems. The San Marino delegation includes two Captains Regent, the Heads of State, renewed every six months. Following, the historical parade takes with the participation of flag bearers, musicians and marksmen of the Federazione Balestrieri all in the medieval costumes. The parade will move along the Decumano and reach the San Marino Pavilion at the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster at 12:50. will recall the celebrations the attract millions of tourists to San Marino each year. At 12:00 the Government of San Marino will hold a press conference in collaboration with San Marino RTV at the Expo Media Center. At 12:15 the Captains Regent will visit the Pavilion and at the same time, there will be music provided by , the DJ set Chicco Giuliani of Radio San Marino accompanied by food and wine tastings of typical local products.

An afternoon of tastings and insights

Celebrations resume in the afternoon, at the Conference Center at 16:00, with a seminar on the local economy and the Country System organized by the San Marino Chamber of Commerce , while the general public is invited to the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster, where blogger Antonella Zaghini shall present the "panino del Consorzio" (Consortium sandwich), made with farm to table products, At 16:30, in Piazza Italia, there will be a flag-waving exhibition with the Federazione Balestrieri followed by a tasting of Brugneto Reserve, a limited edition wine to be followed by a tasting of Brugneto Riserva, a limited edition wine created by Consorzio Vini Typici of San Marino for Expo Milano 2015.

A visit to the Pavilion

The theme chosen by the Republic of San Marino for Expo Milano 2015 is "Small Enough to be Big". The heart of the Pavilion (located within the Bio-Mediterraneum Cluster) is a video wall with 4K videos (the latest invention of telecommunication technology) showing the history and features of the country. There are also interactive screens set on a large central multimedia table explaining the characteristics of the six typical food production chains of the San Marino Consortium: oil, wine, wheat, milk and dairy products, honey and meat.
