Retired U. S. general to lead coalition against ISIS

(AGI) Washington, Sept 14 - Retired U.S. General John Allen,the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan from 2011 to 2013,will lead the international effort against Islamic Statemilitants. His deputy will be Brett McGurk, the DeputyAssistant Secretary of State for Iraq and Iran in the Bureau ofNear Eastern Affairs at the State Department.
