(AGI) Sharm El Sheikh, March 13 - There is no clash ofcivilisations in progress, said Italian Prime Minister MatteoRenzi at the Economic Forum in Egypt. Renzi pointed out thatextremists do not represent the Muslim world. "We must joinforces to address the challenge of terrorism, which is not aclash of civilisations but a fight of the civilised worldagainst a few extremists who have nothing to do with religion.We are stronger than they are and absolutely more determined tocreate freedom, peace and prosperity for all," said the PM.Renzi stressed that relations with Egypt represent an area ofopportunity and development, and that Italy is among thoseEuropean nations who value this and will work to realise thedream. "Rome must be a bridge between Europe and this region,as Egypt has become a bridge between Europe and the Arab worldand North Africa," he said, adding that Italy has faith inEgypt and its leaders and supports their goals of economicgrowth for the wellbeing of all Egyptians. The challenges Egyptis facing "are also ours", he pointed out, and renewed hispromise to work with Egyptian authorities at all levels,especially in addressing the common threat of terrorism. Hereiterated the need to collaborate in finding a solution to thecrisis in Syria and Libya. Renzi invited Egyptian President AlSisi to visit the 2015 Expo in Milan, to continue the "crucialdiscussion" on the future of the region.. .
