(AGI) Milan, Sept 26 - Lebanon celebrated its National Day atthe Expo on Saturday, with Lebanese Minister of Economy andTrade Alain Hakim heading Lebanon's delegation for theoccasion. "Our pavilion is small and modest, but we are proudto be here at Expo Milan 2015," he said. "We want to bring amessage of hope and peace. We thank Italy for the support ithas given us for our participation at such an important,exceptional, and unique event," he added. "The UniversalExposition is one of the greatest events of the start of thecentury." The Commissioner General of Expo 2015, Bruno AntonioPasquino, welcomed the Lebanese delegation. "The MediterraneanSea is our home, a place where cultures and peoples share along history as well as a common future," he stated. "Lebanon,whose cuisine is the 'Pearl of the Middle East', shows thewhole world that food can promote dialogue between peoples in apeaceful context, where traditional culture and moderntechnology work together towards a better future," Pasquinoaffirmed. Following the official ceremony, the delegationvisited the Pavilion Zero and then the Bio-MediterraneanCluster, where Lebanon's own pavilion is located. After a lunchat the Palazzo Italia, Minister Hakim and the delegation alsovisited France and Iran's pavilions, as well as others. TheNational Day will conclude in the evening with a performance bythe Caracalla Company, which will interpret the One Thousandand One Nights through dance and music. (AGI). .
