(AGI) Jerusalem, Oct. 7 - Three attacks by Palestinians raisedtensions in Israel on Wednesday. In the morning, an 18-year-oldwoman stabbed a Jewish man in the back. The man carried a gunand opened fire, wounding the young woman. Later, in Kiryat Gatin southern Israel, a soldier was injured by anineteen-year-old man who managed to take his weapon. The mantook refuge in a nearby building and also tried to shoot awoman, but the weapon jammed. He was killed by the police. Inthe evening, near a shopping centre in Petah Tikva, northeastof Tel Aviv, a 30-year-old man from Hebron was neutralisedafter stabbing several passersby. One of the victims was takento hospital with minor injuries. Another attack in theneighborhood of Abu Tor in East Jerusalem was foiled, YediothAhronoth reported. A 15-year-old man was arrested after hetried to stab security forces and Israeli police who were inthe area. The mayor of Jerusalem has ordered all schools toremain closed on Thursday. The increasing level of tensionand violence has caused Israeli Prime Minister BenjaminNetanyahu to cancel a visit to Germany on Thursday. "We haveknown very tough times and we will overcome this wave of terrortoo with determination, responsibility and unity, " he assuredafter a meeting with police in Jerusalem. The Israeli armyhas said that the Jewish state is not interested in anescalation in the West Bank. Israel's chief liaison to thePalestinians, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, told Palestinian mediathat Israel remains committed to the five-decade-old status quoon the Temple Mount. Temporary police restrictions onPalestinian access to the Old City and Temple Mount, imposed inrecent days in an effort to quell violence at and around theholy site, have been lifted. (AGI) . .
