Italian stocks extend gains, FTSE MIB up 2 percent

(AGI) Milano, July 16 - Italian stocks rose further bymid-morning with the FTSE MIB up 2 percent at 20,831 points andthe All Share gaining 1.86 percent. Bank shares were tradinghigher with Banco popolare up 5.69 percent , Intesa SP 2.72percent, MPS 2.24 percent. Generali shares rose 1.2 percent andUnipolsai 1.12 percent. Energy shares also gained with A2a up3.27 percent, Enel 1.80 percent and Eni 1.91 percent. Amongstmanufacturers, Fiat climbed 0,86 percent and Pirelli 1.48percent. Telecom Italia had the strongest gains, surging 6.03percent after rumours surfaced in Italian media about a merger
