Italian fashion designer Gaudiomonte goes on show in Hanoi

(AGI) Hanoi, Dec 9 - Italian designer Michele Gaudiomonte, istaking his collection to Hanoi, where it will be on show untilDec 15 as part of the Vietnamese 2015 Spring-Summer FashionWeek. Collections from Malaysia's Eric Choong and 25 Vietnamesedesigners will also be on display. The event was organised bythe Italian Embassy in Vietnam at the Casa Italia culturalcentre, as part of Italy-Vietnam 2014. "During the fashionweek, he (Gaudiomonte) will present a collection showing offthe beauty of his country, made with top quality Italian silk,"said Italian ambassador, Lorenzo Angeloni, adding: "He is atalented fashion designer, whose creations have been recognisedas works of art." Choong's collection, using traditionalhand-painted models, will show how traditional values can bepromoted through creation and exchange. "Vietnam Fashion Weekshows the growing potential of the local fashion industry",said the founder of the initiative, renowned fashion designerMinh Hanh, noting that it is "a special opportunity for youngtalent." "We expect - he said - that the different challengespresented by this initiative will enable them to learn fromother designers and grow." The exhibition is an initiative ofthe recently established Italy-Vietnam Fashion Council. Themembers of the Council include designers from both countries,represented by Stefano Dominella, president of the fashionhouse Gattinoni, and Vietnam's Minh Hanh. In September,Gattinoni and the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy organised afashion show at Palazzo Braschi in Rome, with four collectionsfrom Vietnamese fashion designers including Minh Hanh, CongKhanh, Quang Nhat and Lan Huong.
