(AGI) Moscow, June 8 - A total of 14 Italian companies aretaking part in MIR STEKLA (WORLD OF GLASS) - the InternationalExhibition for Glass Products, Manufacturing, Processing andFinishing Technology - which opened in Moscow on Monday. The220 square metre Italian pavilion was organised by the ICEItalian Institute for Foreign Trade in Moscow, in collaborationwith the Italian Association of Glass-Processing Machinery andAccessory Suppliers (GIMAV). A vast and widespread tradenetwork, ability to establish brand loyalty, operationalflexibility to respond to demand and technical assistance arewhat has made Italian glass a sectoral leader in Russia, wherenew manufacturing and the modernisation of existing facilitiesrequire huge investment, an ICE statement said. This called forparticularly high demand for machinery. The manufacture ofglass-processing machines had not taken off in Russia and couldsatisfy the quantitative, qualitative and technological demandsof one of the largest glass industries in the world. Italy'sparticipation in the event, ICE added, was a fundamental toolfor promoting sectoral Italian technology in an area that was amajor outlet for the Italian export market, generating over 15million euros in 2014, more than 16 percent up on 2013.
