(AGI) Jerusalem, Nov. 28 - An Italian citizen, identified asProdo Corsi, was injured by Israeli fire during a protest marchin Kafr Qaddum, a Palestinian town in the northern region ofthe West Bank, reported the Palestinian news agency Maan. TheItalian was wounded in the stomach. According to PalestinianHealth Minister Jawad Awwad the young man, a 30-year-oldItalian activist, was hit by several gunshots during a protestmarch in the little town 13 km from Nablus and now lies incritical conditions. The Italian was participating in a marchagainst Israel's occupation. "Shooting live fire at the upperpart of the bodies of protesters is directly targeting them andis a deliberate attempt at murder", said Jawad Awwad. "Israeldoes not differentiate between foreign solidarity activists,Palestinians, or even journalists", he added. Khaldoun Ishtewi,media coordinator for public campaigns in Kafr Qaddum, reportedto Maan that the Italian was taken to the Rafidia Hospital inNablus. The Israeli army has made no comment up to now. Thetown of Kafr Qaddum organises protest marches every Fridayagainst the closing of the main road connecting the village tothe city of Nablus and, more generally, to rally supportagainst the Israeli occupation.
