(AGI) Rome, Sept 17 - The Italian bankers' association (ABI)executive committee has approved some modifications to theassociation's statute to strengthen governance, specificallyfor attendance requirements at high-level meetings. Itintroduces automatic suspension from appointments when a boardmember is subject to legal penalties restricting his freedom ofmovement. In cases of serious legal problems, a board membercan be subject to "preventive suspension". The board has alsodecided that should the association's president or the CEO of abank no longer have the required attributes, he willautomatically be removed. (AGI) . .
