Italian bankers' association imposes new member rules

(AGI) Rome, Sept 17 - The Italian bankers' association (ABI)executive committee has approved some modifications to theassociation's statute to strengthen governance, specificallyfor attendance requirements at high-level meetings. Itintroduces automatic suspension from appointments when a boardmember is subject to legal penalties restricting his freedom ofmovement. In cases of serious legal problems, a board membercan be subject to "preventive suspension".
