(AGI) Vatican City, March 18 - The Catholic Church intends toconvey three experiences through its presence at the ExpoMilano 2015, under the general heading "Not by bread alone doesman live", wrote Father Davide Milani, the director of theSocial Communications Office of the Diocese of Milan, in a noteon Wednesday. The Holy See is officially present at the Expo asan exhibitor country with a pavilion of its own, which wasdesigned and managed in collaboration with the PontificalCouncil of Culture, the Italian Episcopal Conference and theDiocese of Milan. The message will be symbolised by a garden toconserve, food to share, meals that educate, and bread thatmakes God's presence felt in the world. These are the"chapters" that comprise the milestones of the itinerary, whichwill be based on different artistic languages, ranging from themost traditional to the most innovative. The Church's secondpresence is represented by the "The Shrine of CaritasInternationalis at Expo Milano 2015," a dedicated exhibitionspace displaying a large shrine enclosing an importantcontemporary work of art. The itinerary will follow the message"Divide to Multiply. Break the Bread", reflecting Caritas'sworldwide campaign against the tragedy of hunger. CaritasInternationalis, the note reads, is the organisation thatgroups together all the Caritas organisations in the world andofficially participates in the Expo as "Civil SocietyParticipant". "Expo.caritasambrosiana.it" is the website thatexplains Caritas Internationalis's participation in the Expowhile expoblogcaritas.com is the blog on which to post stories, chat with Internet users and receive an update of theactivities in real time. The Twitter account is"@expoblogcaritas". The third presence is that of "The Dioceseof Milan at Expo Milano 2015". "The Church of Milan, in whosediocese the Expo is held, has been focusing its attention onthis event ever since Milan was chosen for the 2015 edition ofthe Expo, taking it as a pastoral opportunity," wrote Fr.Milani. "Cardinal Tettamanzi first and Cardinal Scola laterhave dedicated addresses and considerations to this themebecause they see the Expo as an opportunity to survey andenrich everyday life and paths of faith.
