(AGI) Rome, March 11 - Greenpeace has reported that 59 percentof samples taken from areas around Japan's Fukushima nuclearplant are still above safety thresholds. The samples came fromareas officially classified as decontaminated. Theinternational environmentalist association said that "thedecontamination work actually shifted the focus of the issuebut did not solve it". About 120,000 people have not returnedto their homes four years after the nuclear accident.Greenpeace said: "The hills, mountains and forest in the areaof the prefecture of Fukushima are highly contaminated, and theradioactive material is washed away by water courses reachingpreviously decontaminated areas, contaminating them again.". .
