(AGI) Moscow, June 24 - The soundtracks of great Italian filmsand some of Italy's best known contemporary composers havetaken part in the latest round of the cultural season begun inMay by the Italian embassy in Moscow. Renzo Arbore was presenton Wednesday at the residence of Ambassador Cesare MariaRagaglini, who did the honours, before his concert with hisorchestra at the Kremlin to promote Expo 2015. PianistFrancoise de Clossey and trumpeter Mauro Mauer, who has workedwith Ennio Morricone and performed at the funeral of FedericoFellini, played the music of Italian composers who have madethe history of world cinema: Rota, Ortolani, Piccioni andMorricone, with the soundtracks of films such as "A Fistful ofDollars", "La Dolce Vita", "Amarcord" and "Cinema Paradiso". The ambassador said: "We aim to improve the quality andquantity of Italian culture offered in Russia." Maestro UtoUghi will play at the prestigious Moscow Conservatory on June30 and in September, the "Caravaggio and His Followers"exhibition will be shown at the Pushkin museum in the Russiancapital and the RAI Symphony Orchestra will start its Russiantour, which will visit Moscow, St Petersburg, Ekaterinburg andPerm. In December, the Italian Virtuosi and other events willmark the 750th anniversary of the birth of Dante Alighieri.Ambassador Ragaglini said: "We are working on a great projectof symbolic value."
