Football: Parma CEO sells club to Russian-Cypriot alliance

(AGI) Parma, Dec. 7 - The news of the sale of the football clubParma F.C. to a Russian-Cypriot alliance came totallyunexpected. The sale to the alliance, which is represented byattorney Fabio Giordano, was announced by Parma's sporting andmanaging director Pietro Leonardi on Sky Sports: "The Presidentinformed us this morning that things have accelerated andtherefore we tried to rev up today's upcoming match even more.I think that the negotiations have been ongoing for quite awhile, but these things were directly managed by the president,and they accelerated during the last few days. This is what wewere told. How did the players take the news? There is noquestion that there is an emotional aspect to it and also withrespect to the Ghirardi family and this is slightly upsetting,and then there is the curiosity to know who the new owners are,if the news is confirmed. We were informed that they closed theagreement and that it will be finalised to the fullsatisfaction of the parties.
