(AGI) Rome, Mar. 2 - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) registered37,800 vehicles in Italy in February, an increase of 13.5percent, its biggest rise since March 2010. Its market sharegrew to 28.1 percent. FCA sold 75,000 vehicles over the year,with a market share of 28.2 percent. Registrations were 12.5percent higher than in the first two months of 2014, anotherresult better than the market average. FCA's results wereboosted by the 500, 500L, and Panda, models that have longdominated sales in Italy and by the recently launched 500X andRenegade, which within just a few weeks have establishedthemselves as best sellers in their segment. FCA dominates thelisting of best sellers in Italy, occupying the top fivepositions with, in order, the Panda, 500L, Ypsilon, Punto and500. The Fiat brand registered over 27,000 cars in February, amarket share of 20.2 percent. The brand recorded a market shareof 20.4 percent, with over 54,000 registrations in the firsttwo months of the year, 7.5 percent higher than the same periodof 2014. The Panda was again Italy's best selling car, withalmost 9,800 registrations and a 38.4 percent market share inthe A-segment. The 500 also did very well, second in itssegment with a market share of 17.3 percent. Overall, more thanhalf the cars registered in the A-segment were Pandas or 500s.There was an equally positive result for the 500L, which withalmost 5,200 models sold is the second best seller in Italy anddominates its segment with a share of 61 percent. The new 500Xis quickly climbing the sales charts and already tops itssegment with a market share of 11 percent. The Lancia also grewstrongly in February, with the brand registering 5,200vehicles, 18.2 percent more than the year before and a marketshare of 3.9 percent. In the first two months more than 10,000Lancias were registered, a 1.7 percent rise over 2014, for a3.85 percent share. The Ypsilon again confirmed its popularity.In fact, it was the third best selling model in Italy and thefirst in the B-segment with a 14.2 percent share and 2.9percent rise in registrations compared to February 2014.. .
