(AGI) Rome, Nov 20 - Italian Formula 1 racing team Ferrariannounced Sebastian Vettel will replace Fernando Alonso nextseason on its Twitter account @scuderiaferrari. In a statementthe team said: "The Ferrari racing team has finalised athree-year technical and competition agreement with SebastianVettel, starting from the 2015 season. So, next season's teamwill be formed by Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel." Teamprincipal Marco Mattiacci said: "Ferrari has decided to confidein the youngest many-times champion in the history of Formula1. Sebastian Vettel represents a unique combination of youthand experience and brings a team spirit that is fundamental tostand up to the challenges that lie ahead, together with Kimi,so that they may regain leading positions as soon as possible.In addition to his craving for victory, we share Sebastian'senthusiasm, his culture of work and his resoluteness, all keyfactors in building a new chapter in the history of Ferrari,together with all team members." Earlier Ferrari said goodbyeto Fernando Alonso with another tweet: "It is official: After 5years, 1,186 points, 44 podiums and 11 wins Alonso leavesFerrari. Thank you Fernando." In a statement the team said:"The Ferrari team and Fernando Alonso have agreed to rescindtheir technical and competition collaboration contract." TheSpanish driver will leave the team at the end of this season,ending his five-year membership. The team expressed itsgratitude "for his great contribution, both human andprofessional". Mr. Mattiacci said: "In Ferrari's golden book ofdrivers, Fernando Alonso will always have a place of honour. Wewould like to extend to him our deepest-felt thanks for hisextraordinary adventure with the team, during which he twicecame close to grabbing the world championship title.
