(AGI) Rho, June 9 - Tuesday was the National Day of thePrincipality of Monaco at Expo Milano 2015. Flags were flown,national anthems sung and official speeches made. The occasionwas attended by Prince Albert II of Monaco, who spoke aboutjoint responsability for guaranteeing "a welcoming mother earthfor future generations." A global disaster might well occur infuture, he said, but "responsability for this would also beglobal. Everything is connected, we must all work together." Tothis end, the prince stressed the value of Expo: "Expositionsare occasions for the wider public to learn. I am sure Expowill send a strong message." General Commissioner BrunoPasquino took part in the opening ceremony, along with DeputyForeign Secretary Benedetto della Vedova, who underscored theimportance of the ties between the principality and Italy,remembering the latter's input during the opening negotiationsfor Europe's Association Agreement with Monaco. The ceremonywas followed by a parade along the Decumano axis to the MonacoPavilion. Prince Albert was due to visit Palazzo Italia, at theheart of the site, followed by a visit to the Kazakh Pavilionin the afternoon. (AGI). .
