European new car sales rise 5. 8 percent this year

(AGI) Rome, Sept 17 - New car sales in Europe rose 1.8 percentmonth-on-month in August to 700,000. Sales in the 28 EUcountries and EFTA in July rose 5.6 percent to 1,082,000 and5.8 percent to 8,363,000 in the first eight months of thisyear. In Italy, new registrations increased 5.5 percent to114,343 in July. They fell 0.2 percent to 53,191 in August androse 3.5 percent to 925,393 in the first eight months of theyear. . .
