(AGI) Rome, Oct 15 - The vastly successful "Land 25 - Omaggioal Paesaggio Italiano" (Homage to Italy's Landscape) exhibit, organised by the design practice Landscape Architecture NatureDevelopment (LAND) in collaboration with Eni, closed onThursday. The exhibit was a journey throughout the peninsula, recounting its rebirth thanks to landscaping and environmentalprojects. Its stop-over in Rome became a fixed showing,"Land25+1", thanks to an additional section dedicated to LAND'sprojects with Eni in Val d'Agri, chiefly the landscaping andarchitectural improvement plan for the Val d'Agri oil centre(COVA). The requalification project to make the COVA "greener"both inside and out and improve its outer wall was illustratedduring the closing press conference held on Thursday. The outerwall was transformed into an authentic work of art with a 1.8km-long mural by Mexican artist Raymundo Sesma, titled "MiglioArtistico" (Artistic Mile). Eni's head of cultural initiatives,Lucia Nardi, was present for the event and explained thethought process behind the project. "There's a red line thatconnects the present to the past and therefore gives a sense toour choices, that makes us understand that there's a philosophyor way of thinking behind decisions," she explained. "Sixtyyears ago, Eni chose Edoardo Gellner to build the town of Borcadi Cadore. And it chose Gellner because he guaranteed that thework would ensure that the architectural structures wouldintegrate with the Alps' landscape. Today, Eni's southerndistrict chose the LAND studio for an operation which willintegrate the oil centre in Viggiano with its surroundings, making culture and industry interact," she stated. (AGI). .
