(AGI) Milan, Sept 15 - El Salvador celebrated its National Dayat Milan Expo on Tuesday. Sigfrido Reyes, president of theOrganisation Promoting Exports and Investments of El Salvador(PROESA), said: "Expo Milano 2015 is the first UniversalExposition that will not only be remembered for its facilitiesand buildings, but also for the contribution it has made to thedebate on food and on the use of sustainable resources."Speaking at the National Day of the central American republicat Expo, which coincided with the country's nationalIndependence Day at home, he went on: "The Milan Expo is aplace in which everybody can meet and offers a uniqueopportunity for cultural exchanges between countries atdifferent levels. I hope that Expo 2015 will give El Salvadoran opportunity to implement projects and initiatives offeringever-newer solutions to meet the many challenges, such aspoverty and malnutrition, that now face our societies." Bruno Pasquino, Italy's General Commissioner for Expo Milano2015, recalled that it was a special day for El Salvador as headdressed special thanks to the Salvadoran community living inItaly. "It is a fully integrated community that makes animportant contribution to the world of labour and to allaspects of our social life," he said. The celebration of ElSalvador National Day continued with a parade along theDecumanus, which ended in front of the country's pavilioninside the "Coffee Cluster" with a pledge to the flag and a cupof its world-famous coffee offered to visitors.
