(AGI) Beijing, June 23 - China is looking closely at thehandling of the Greek debt crisis and is hoping for a quicksolution, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang, speaking inBeijing. "From China's standpoint, we hope Greece will get outof the crisis soon for the sake of stable development in the EUintegration process," he told a daily news briefing. However,he made no comment on the possibility that Beijing might rescueAthens with an emergency loan or the purchase of assets in theevent of a default. Mr Lu then announced the presence ofpremier Li Keqiang at the next summit between China and theEuropean Union in Brussels on June 29. This will be his firstvisit to the European Union since the changing of the guard atthe top of the European Commission, now headed by Jean-ClaudeJuncker. Li Keqiang will be in Europe from June 28 to July 2,with a stop-off in France where he is expected to meet with theleaders of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation andDevelopment (OECD) in Paris - a chance to discuss Chineseinvestment opportunities in the new 315 billion-euro EuropeanFund for Strategic Investments.
