The exhibition represents an illustrious and poeticnarrative of the artists's works, and there is no better placefor it than the Expo, which is brimming with culture. Marcello Mariani is eclectic and multifaceted: a painter worthyof the Renaissance. He initially dealt with figurative art, andhis first exhibition dates back to 1954. He then switched to amore informal approach, influenced by Alberto Burri and LucioFontana, with whom the young painter was destined to hold groupexhibitions. Later in life, he further enhanced his career in abusy and lively workshop near Pescara, following thedevastating earthquake which destroyed his original workshop onApril 6, 2009. According to art critic Vittorio Sgarbi, theartist is one of the greatest contemporary painters. "Figurative art comes easily to me. Informal art is disturbing,it drives you crazy. It can make you cry or laugh. It involvesyou emotionally", Mariani said. . .
