(AGI) Rome, Mar 9 - The new Apple Watch will go on sale onFriday Apr. 24 in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany,Japan, Hong Kong, the UK and the U.S. Apple CEO Tim Cook saidthe device marked a new chapter in the way in which we relatewith technology and he thought Apple clients would fall in lovewith it. He was keen to see Apple Watch clients accessinformation crucial to them, interact with the world and leadhealthier lives, thanks to greater awareness of their dailyactivities. The device had been conceived, designed anddeveloped as a unique product, blending hardware and softwareas never before, said Apple's Senior Vice President Design JonyIve. Three splendid collections had been devised, along withsoftware architecture that would make for unprecedentedpersonalisation of a wearable device. The Apple Watch isavailable in two sizes, 38 mm and 42 mm, and in three differentcollections: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple WatchEdition. The Apple Watch Sport casing is made from extremelylight silver or iron-grey anodised aluminium, the Retinadisplay is protected by reinforced Ion-X glass, and thehigh-performance fluoroelastomer Sport strap is available infive different colours. The Apple Watch casing is made fromshiny natural or iron-black stainless steel, and the Retinadisplay is protected by sapphire crystal. There is a choice ofthree leather straps, a stainless steel link bracelet or aMilanese mesh bracelet, and a black or white Sport strap. AppleWatch Edition has a specially-made red or gold 18 carat goldalloy casing, twice as strong as traditional gold, a Retinadisplay protected by shiny sapphire crystal and a choice ofexclusively designed straps and bracelets with buckles orclosures in 18 carat gold. Battery life is up to 18 hours andan exclusive charging system combines Apple's MagSafetechnology and induction charging. The connector is easily andquickly attached. The devices will be on display as of Apr. 10in Apple Stores in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany,Japan, Hong Kong, the UK and the U.S., and in-storeappointments will be available for those wishing to try oneout. Apple Watches can also be pre-ordered from the AppleOnline Store. The Apple Watch will be available as of Apr. 24online, by appointment in Apple Stores and from official Appledistributors in China and Japan. Customers buying Apple Watchesin-store or online from Apple will be offered a personal set-upservice for personalising the devices and linking them to theiriPhones. (AGI). .
