(AGI) London, June 19 - An Italian anti-Mafia association hasannounced it intends to extend its operation to London. Libera,chaired by Don Luigi Ciotti, held a presentation in Islington,north London. The London operation is coordinated by lawyerPaolo Fumagalli, Anna Sergi, a researcher in criminologyspecialising in the n'drangheta clan, Stefano Donati andCaroline De Stefani. The launch was an opportunity to show thedocumentary "The changing face of the Mafia", made by Britishjournalist Johnny Miller. The 30-minute film focuses on smallSicilian towns such as Petrosino, which has 8,000 inhabitantsand is ruled by mayor and former London expat GaspareGiacalone. He said: "I already work with Libera in Sicilyand the idea to do it here in London is beautiful. Here it hasa great symbolic value, because this city is the capital offinance with a large flow of money, all of which the Mafiaknows how to exploit very well." The documentary also describesthe daily life of Petrosino in 2012, during a campaign by MrGiacalone, and in 2013. Several people involved in the fightagainst the Sicilian Mafia were interviewed, includingjournalist Giacomo Girolamo and activists linked to theSicilian independent television station Telejato.
