India: Delhi and Washington to fight terror threat together

(AGI)- New Delhi, 2 dec. - Amid rising concern in India and theUS over spread of terrorism, both the countries have decided tohelp each other by sharing information pertaining to terroractivities. Indian minister of State for External Affairs VKSingh told the lower house of Parliament-Lok Sabha. "Thegovernments of India and the US have agreed to finalise anagreement to expand intelligence sharing and terroristwatch-list information" he said. The minister also told theParliament that both the countries have decided to deepenbilateral cooperation to counter terrorism and radicalism. A joint declaration by India and the US on combatingterrorism was issued in Washington recently at the firstIndia-US Strategic and Commercial ministerial Dialogue. Indianminister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and secretary ofState John Kerry had reaffirmed the commitment of India and theUnited States to combat terrorism in all its forms, whichconstitutes a profound threat to global peace and security, andto uphold our common values of democracy, justice, and the ruleof law.
