(AGI) Kampala, Nov 28 - Pope Francis spoke to thousands ofyoung people crowding Kampala's Kololo Airstrip on Saturday."Prayer is the most powerful weapon that a young man has," thePope said. During his long unscripted speech, the Pontiff spokeof how to transform difficulties from negative to positive."IfI transform the negative into the positive, I'm a winner. Butthis can be done only by the grace of Jesus," he said. PopeFrancis encouraged the young by reiterating the need toovercome all difficulties, even the most tragic ones. He askedthe youth the following question over and over again: "Are youwilling to turning in life all the negative things intopositive things?". Before concluding his speech, the Pope said:"Please pray for me, I need it, don't forget...". "Don't forgetthe poor," the Pope said appealing to all parishes andcommunities in Ugands and in the rest of Africa. During hisvisit to the Nalukolongo's House of Charity, the Pope rejectedthe culture of waste and the culture of "throwaway consumergoods". He said: "Our parishes must not close their doors, ortheir ears, to the cry of the poor. This is the royal road ofChristian discipleship. In this way we bear witness to the Lordwho came not to be served, but to serve. In this way we showthat people count more than things, that who we are is moreimportant than what we possess".. .
