(AGI) Rome, Oct 16 - The largest simulation of the UnitedNations system for youngsters opened on Friday at the UN Foodand Agriculture Organisation in Rome. Romun 2015 is attended bymore than 500 youngsters from four continents and 60 countriesfor five days of negotiations.They have one goal: to send aclear message to world leaders to "also listen to our side ofthe story". Issues such as terrorism and the refugee crisiswill be discussed by youngsters who still believe in diplomacyand social instruments, such as the flash mob they organised tomake politicians more aware of the migrants' issue. The eventwas organised by the Italian Society for InternationalOrganisation and the diplomatic missions of the United Statesin Italy and at UN agencies in Rome. Youngsters between 16 and30 years old gathered in the Italian capital from countries,including Turkey, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Libya, Ukraine,Pakistan, Ethiopia and Venezuela. The opening was attended byFood and Agriculture Organisation deputy director general DanGustafson, Italian president emeritus Giorgio Napolitano, U.S.ambassador to Italy John Phillips, the president of the ItalianSociety for International Organisation Franco Frattini, thepresident of the permanent secretariat of the World Summit ofNobel Peace Laureates Ekaterina Zagladina and Pietro SferraCarini of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of ForeignAffairs and International Cooperation. The simulation closes onOct. 19 at 12.30 at the Foreign Ministry, where the finalresolution, the "Youth Road Map", will be handed to theSecretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MicheleValensise, who will take it to Ban Ki-moon.
