(AGI) Washington, Feb 19 - High Representative for ForeignPolicy of the European Union, Federica Mogherini, spoke on thesidelines of a White House summit on Thursday against violentextremism: "It is clear that we have to deal with terrorismfrom the point of view of internal security but we must firstsolve the case of Libya," she said. "We are working togetherwith our global partners against the challenge of terrorismthat is at the same time internal and external. The reason forour meeting today is to combine internal security measures andour diplomatic action." Ms Mogherini continued by saying "todaywill be very important" not only for the work done, but alsofor the meeting on the initiative of the EU on Libya betweenSecretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, U.S.Secretary of State John Kerry and Egyptian Foreign MinisterSameh Shoukry, in addition to the EU High Representative. Themeeting was scheduled for Thursday afternoon. The internationalcommunity needs to accelerate its efforts for a solution to theLibyan crisis, and do so "in a matter of days and not weeks",she warned. "Over the next few days the effort led by theUnited Nations will go forward," assured Ms Mogherini. "Themessage that will be given here today will be one of fullersupport for all the international and regional actors so thatthe internal dialogue in Libya can lead to a government ofnational unity. ...
