(AGI) Washington, Sept 15 - The Blues Alley jazz club inGeorgetown, Washington DC, is to host performances by fiveoutstanding Italian jazz musicians during the final week ofSeptember. Guitar virtuoso and singer-songwriter FabrizioSotti kicks off the selection next Monday, with his brand ofJazz Fusion, Post-Bop, Blues, Soul, Hip Hop and R&B. Thefollowing day will see Daniela Schachter, a professor at theBerklee College of Music in Boston, perform her award-winningpiano and song repertoire. Sax player and Berklee Global JazzInstitute director Marco Pignataro will also take centre stagenext week, on Wednesday. Accomplished young drummer GianlucaPellerito is booked to perform next Monday. The Italian jazzseries ends the following day with Marco Panascia, whosecurriculum as bass player and composer includes sessions withKenny Barron, Natalie Cole, Andy Bey and Eric Reed. Theinitiative, Italian ambassador Claudio Bisogniero said, "willprovide Washington audiences with a feel for Italy's jazz, notjust its opera and classical music." (AGI) . .
