(AGI) Washington, July 11 - Within the framework of Italy'ssix-month presidency of the European Union (EU), the ItalianEmbassy in Washington has hosted a joint dinner with theTrans-Atlantic Business Council (TABC), devoted to theTransatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP),celebrating transatlantic leadership in the midst ofnegotiating a major EU-U.S. trade and investment agreement.Those present included the members of Congress chairing therecently-launched bipartisan Transatlantic Trade and InvestmentPartnership Caucus, William Keating, Richard Neal, Eric Paulsenand Todd Young, along with several ambassadors andrepresentatives of American and European companies. Progressingthe TTIP talks is one of the priorities of Italy's presidencyof the EU, Italian Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero said in hisintroduction. He added that the agreement would boost economicgrowth, exports, employment and investment opportunities onboth sides of the Atlantic. The TABC is a business associationrepresenting over 70 American and European companies. Its aimis to promote a transatlantic market without frontiers thatwill contribute to global economic growth and sustainability.. .
