(AGI) Los Angeles, California, March 2 - A video showing atleast six LAPD officers beating and shooting dead a homelessman after an argument was published on Facebook and is raisinga wave of criticism. The man was repeatedly beaten before anofficer fired five shots in the central Los Angeles Skid Rowarea. The circumstances of the incident are not clear, butthe video shows the man waving something at the officers whilethey beat him. Officers can also be seen grabbing another manwho had seized one of the truncheons they used to beat thehomeless man.

A voice is heard screaming "drop the gun" andfive shots are then fired in rapid succession. Bystandersfilming the scene with a cell phone, can be heard shouting:"You killed him ... we've recorded the whole thing." Theman was declared dead at a hospital. The Los Angeles Timesreported police were answering a call to catch a thief, while awitness said that the man was fighting with another homelessperson in his tent.
