(AGI) London, Nov. 26 - "Libri d'Acqua", the international tourof a publication that celebrates the close bond betweenliterature and local realities, will bring Italian authors toLondon on Wednesday night. The tour is also sponsored by theItalian Navy, as well as by the Italian Coast Guard and PortAuthorities. Born from an idea of psychologist andpsychotherapist Vera Slepoj and organised by the culturalassociation Water's Friend, the literary tour puts water at thecentre of the relationship between authors, books and cities.It will make a stop in London on Wednesday night, beyond thenational confines of Italy. The evening's programme, which willbe hosted in the library of the Travellers Club, only a shortdistance from Buckingham Palace, will present the book by GianArturo Ferrari, entitled "Il libro: il suo futuro traconoscenza e nuovi linguaggi" ("The Book: Its Future betweenKnowledge and New Languages"). The tour highlights the "filrouge" linking authors to their local realities, with waterrepresenting a natural element and the source of life, but alsoof culture. "The Tour has only one important objective: tohighlight the identity of a nation like Italy, which voices thetransversality of culture around the world, networking authors,books and cities, with the aim of ideally unifying an entireterritory, not only national but also European andextra-European", the association said in a statement. It wasnot by chance that London was chosen as the internationaltour's first stop, explained Ms. Slepoj. "Following the greatsuccess of the first stops in Italy, Libri d'Acqua hasacquired, to all effects, a truly international scope, landingon the banks of the Thames in London", she said. The tour isdue to continue through 2015: in March, Gian Arturo Ferrari andAndrea Vitali will be in Paris, in May the tour will move on toNew Delhi and Montenegro, in June to Greece and at the end ofthe year to New York, Asuncion in Paraguay, Argentina, Hungaryand then again to India, but this time in Calcutta.. .
