STOCKHOLM TO HOST 'FUTURE ITALY' EXHIBITION

(VELINO) Roma, 24 Jun - The Swedish capital's National Museumof Science and Technology is to host the "Italia del futuro"exhibition, which opens on June 27 and will showcase the latestin cutting-edge Italian research and development. Theexhibition will feature interactive displays on robotics,particle physics, health sciences, transport technologies andVR heritage conservation. Outstanding exhibits include a BigBang simulator, where visitors can experience the masslessuniverse, self-cleaning ceramic textiles, and a virtual tour ofEtruscan settlements. In the robotics section, visitors can trytheir hand at climbing a wall with a robot, meet iCub, thechild humanoid, Plantoide, the plant-robot which mimics plantroots, and Dustbot, a door-to-door garbage collector. Youngeraudiences can create their own Artbot, a drawing robot. Ending on August 24, the exhibition is part of Italy's broaderEuropean Union semester initiatives and was jointly organisedby Italy's Embassy and Foreign Ministry, with contributions byleading Italian research and academic establishments. vel.
