ROME HOSTS EURO-AFRICAN MIGRATION CONFERENCE

(VELINO) Roma, 24 Nov - The fourth Euro-African MinisterialConference on Migration and Development will take place in Romeon Thursday, Nov, 27. The conference, organised by the RabatProcess on Migration and Development, will be presided over byForeign Affairs Minister Paolo Gentiloni and Interior MinisterAngelino Alfano, with Senegal as honorary co-chair.Representatives of 58 European countries, of western, centraland Mediterranean Africa, the European Commission and of theEconomic Community of West African State will take part in theconference. One of them is migration and its relation tocooperation and development, and crime linked with illegalimmigration and trafficking. Legal migration and internationalprotection will also be discussed. The conference is organisedas part of the Italian presidency of the European Council. Before the conference, on Nov. 26, a panel of experts willdefine the final detailed schedule.
