(AGI) Moscow, Oct 2 - Italy's RAI National Symphony Orchestrabegins a tour in Russia on Sunday. Its journey starts at theGreat Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, before movingonto the Moscow Conservatory and the Perm Philharmonic andfinishing at the Eurasia Festival of Yekaterinburg, in theheart of the Ural Mountains on the border between Europe andAsia. The musicians will be playing the overture fromSemiramide by Gioachino Rossini, the Concerto for Violin andOrchestra no. 2 by Niccolo' Paganini, the suite from the film"La Strada" by Nino Rota and Cinq Etudes Tableaux by SergeiRakhmaninov orchestrated by Ottorino Respighi. The tour beginson Sunday in the old Tsarist capital, in the Great Hall of thecity's Philharmonic Orchestra. The following day, the orchestrawill perform in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, oneof the most prestigious venues in Russia. The concert in theRussian capital will be broadcast by RAI Culture live on RAI5,at 6 pm Italian time. The third concert on Tuesday, Oct. 6 willbe in Perm in eastern Russia, at the Great Hall of thePhilharmonic Orchestra in a city which has recently presenteditself as cultural capital of the new Russia. Conductor MarcoAngius and violinist Anna Tifu will star on the first threenights. For the last concert of the tour on Wednesday, Oct. 7,the RAI Orchestra will be in Yekaterinburg as part of theEurasia International Music Festival. (AGI). .
