(AGI) Rome, March 13 - Photos showing al Qaeda leader Osama binLaden's primitive hideout in the Afghan mountains of Tora Borahave been released by the U.S. The hut was made of baked mudand stone and included a library with books about the Koran anda straw mattress bed. Bin Laden is shown in Afghan clothes,with a white turban and camouflage jacket and carrying aKalashnikov rifle. In one picture he is recording the video inwhich he issued a fatwa against Americans and "infidels" in1996. The hut, three hours' ride from Jalalabad, also containedthe possessions of his three wives and numerous children. Thephotos came to light last month during the terrorism conspiracytrial of bin Laden lieutenant Khaled al-Fawwaz, a spokesman foral Qaeda in Europe in the mid-1990s. . .
