(AGI) Rome, Sept 30 - Teresa Bene, a lay member of the newSuperior Council of the Magistrature (CSM) lacks the necessaryrequirements and is therefore ineligible, the plenum of the CSMdecided unanimously on Tuesday. This followed investigationscarried out by its qualifications verification committee. MsBene, elected as part the centre-left Democratic Party quota,has not practised the law for the 15 years required by theregulations and is an assistant professor not a full one.Parliament will proceed to elect a new lay member, but in themeantime the new Council can still function.
