More than 100 Italian firms at Emirates Business Forum

(AGI) Abu Dhabi, Feb 20 - More than 100 Italian companies tookpart in the UAE-Italian Business Forum. It was organised by theChamber of Commerce and Industry of Abu Dhabi, withConfindustria and the Italian Embassy in the United ArabEmirates. The event was attended by Carlo Calenda, DeputyMinister of Economic Development, by the UAE's Minister ofEconomy, Sultan Al Mansouri and Italian Ambassador GiorgioStarace, with representatives of about 400 Italian and UAEfirms. Sultan Al Mansouri pointed out that the recovery of theEmirates housing market and a series of major real estateprojects have caused significant benefits for the economy,particularly tourism, hotels, trade and transport andlogistics. Deputy Minister Calenda stressed that theEmirates is a strategic partner for Italy. The event was thethird Italian business mission in seven years. "Our goal is tocontinue to deepen and strengthen the already flourishingrelationship between Italy and the UAE, focusing in particularon those areas of Italian excellence that meet local interest,such as food, equipment for oil and gas, bio-medical equipmentand renewable energy." The mission was attended byrepresentatives of more than 115 Italian companies, with tradeassociations, banks and organisations involved in export andinvestments. . .
