(AGI) Turin, Sept. 17 - From Addis Ababa to Rio de Janeiro,Stockholm and Toronto: the debate between Italian writersClaudio Magris and Gian Luigi Beccaria was broadcast in livestreaming worldwide from the University of Turin. Thanks to theinvolvement of the Italian Foreign Ministry, the event wasrerouted to the websites of the Italian Cultural Institutes inAddis Ababa, Athens, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Krakow, Madrid,Montevideo, Paris, Sao Paulo, Santiago, Stockholm and Toronto.In Prague it was screened live in the courtyard of theInstitute during an event organised in collaboration with theAssociation of Friends of Italy and Slow Food Prague, while theInstitutes of Dublin, Guatemala and Rio de Janeiro showed thediscussion at a later hour. The meeting between the two writerswas organised to mark the visit to Europe by Dulce MariaZuniga, director of the 'FIL de Literatura en Lenguas Romances'Award, an initiative of the Feria Internacional del Libro diGuadalajara (Mexico). The next such event will take place inOctober, when psychoanalyst Massimo Recalcati meets theAmerican writer Jeffery Deaver, one of the biggest-sellingauthors in the world. The worldwide live streaming over thenetwork of Italian Cultural Institutes was an idea of the newpresident of the Foundation for Books, Giovanna Milella. (AGI). .
