Malta celebrates Italian Cultural Institute's anniversary

(AGI) La Valletta, July 14 - Malta's Italian Cultural Institutewill celebrate its 40th anniversary on July 29th hosting aconcert by the Duo Cardaopoli, with violinist Gennaro andcellist Raffaella playing music by Johann Sebastian Bach, MaxReger, Luigi Boccherini, Niccolo' Paganini, K. Stamiz, KarlStamiz, Henryk Wieniawski, Georg Friedrich Handel and JohanHalvorsen. The two musicians have won many awards in spite oftheir youth and attended important national and internationalworkshops. They have performed as soloists as well as togetherand with Italian theatre's most famous orchestras including theTeatro San Carlo in Naples in the "Olimpiade" by GiovanniBattista Pergolesi which inaugurated the 2011 season and wasbroadcast by Rai3 and by the Rai programme "Prima della Prima",also performing at "Assisi nel Mondo 2013", and abroad inGermany, France, Austria, Switzerland, the United States,Tunisia and Russia. In the summer of 1974, the then ItalianForeign Minister Aldo Moro inaugurated with a formal speech theInstitute's headquarters at the wonderful baroque OldChancellery of the Order of Knights in St. George's Square inValletta. . .
