(AGI) Oslo, Dec 10 - Malala Yousafzai and Kailash Satyarthihave won the Nobel Peace Prize. Seventeen-year-old Mala, theyoungest person to win the prize, was attacked by the Talibanfor campaigning for girls' rights to education. She said at theceremony in Oslo "I am telling my story not because it isunique but, on the contrary, because it is not. It is the storyof many other girls." Human rights activist Mr Satyarthi said:"I lost two of my colleagues. Carrying the dead body of one ofthem, who had been working to protect children, is something Iwill never forget. Not even now that I am sitting here toreceive the Nobel Peace Prize." The 60-year-old campaigner hasbeen working since the 90s in the fight against child labourand has helped save at least 80,00 children from slavery. "If Icould serve my country in the best way through politics,becoming a Prime Minister, I would certainly do it," Malalatold the BBC. "I would like to serve my country, and my dreamis for Pakistan to become a developed nation and every child toreceived education. I have always wanted to see children go toschool, and that is why I started my campaign." Two years agoshe was injured in an attack by the Taliban. She also said shewas inspired by Benazir Bhutto who was murdered in 2007 afterserving two terms as prime minister of Pakistan. "The NobelPrize is very important for me and has given me more hope, morecourage,but also a greater responsibility. Seeing so manypeople support me, makes me feel stronger." (AGI) . .
