ITALY'S EU PRESIDENCY TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN MUNICH

(VELINO) Roma, 17 Jul - On July 26 and 27 Italy's EU presidencywill take centre stage in Munich with an ad hoc event organisedby the Italan Consulate General in cooperation with the Chamberof Commerce and various Italian and international organisationsas well as associations and voluntary workers. The idea is tocelebrate Italy's presidency in the capital of a large GermanLand with which Italy has a close relationship, gatheringtogether the Italian community through its artists andgourmets. The event will on one hand bring together thecommunity with its many socially active associations andindividuals on one stage, to encourage an exchange andawareness of the importance of being united. On the other hand,the event is aimed at celebrating Italy in Munich with thosegroups that love the Italian community and work with it.Italian artists living in Bavaria will present traditionalsongs and music, dance, literature, poetry, opera, concerts,debates, sculptures, photography and a documentary. There willalso be many events involving the local communities, among thema meeting for Bavarian officials who speak Italian with overthirty people already enrolled. The event will be inauguratedby the Mayor of Munich, Dieter Reiter, and attended by thepresidents of the Parliamentary Association of Italian-BavarianFriendship, the Comites, and the Auslaenderbeirat. vel.
