ITALY HAS KEY ROLE AT 'BIG 5' IN DUBAI

(VELINO) Roma, 2 Dec - Italy's building industry is playing abig part in the 'Big 5' show in Dubai, the major Middle-Eastevent in the construction sector, continuing the growth ofrecent years (270 firms in 2012, 315 in 2013). This year over400 exhibitors are showcasing their wares in several pavilionsspread over more than 6000 square metres. Dubai authoritiesacknowledged the Italian participation in the event during theopening, conducted by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum,vice-ruler of Dubai, and Helal Al Merri, director general ofthe Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) - also a major stakeholderin the Expo Dubai 2020 committee. The Italian Ambassador to theUnited Arab Emirates, Giorgio Starace, participated in theopening ceremony and met Sheikh Maktoum, taking the opportunitystress Italy's wish to contribute its expertise to the implementation of the 2020 event. Ambassador Staracehighlighted in several interviews the multifaceted nature ifthe construction sector and how Italy's SMEs can becutting-edge competitors in terms of quality, innovation andcustomising of products. vel.
