ITALY AND BRAZIL TO DISCUSS PARLIAMENTARY COLLABORATION

(VELINO) Roma, 4 Dec - All is set for the fourth meeting of theItalian-Brazilian parliamentary collaboration commission thatwill be held on Thursday at the Italian Chamber of DeputiesForeign Affairs Commission. The meeting will be opened by theDeputy President of the Chamber of Deputies, Marina Sereni,followed by an address by her Brazilian counterpart, CidaBorghetti. On the agenda are the development of social andcultural relations between Italy and Brazil; the fight againstorganised crime and the organisation of the prison system;environmental and agricultural policies also in view of Expo2015, and the promotion of economic and institutional tiesbetween Italy and Brazil in the light of the Brazil-EUStrategic Partnership Action Plan. The meeting will be closedafter the approval of a final report. After the meeting, theBrazilian delegation - Carlos Zarattini, the commission's firstvice president, Nelson Pellegrino and Rubens Bueno - will meetwith Italy's Secretary for Foreign Affairs in charge of SouthAmerica, Mario Giro. Italy's institutions and Foreign Ministryare working to extend dialogue at the level of parliamentsbetween Italy and South America. A similar event onparliamentary level is likely to take place before the seventhItaly-Latin America and Caribbean Conference on June 12 and 13,2015, in Milan. vel.
